Dubai Classics returns for second highly anticipated weekend at Dubai World Trade Centre on 19th and 20th of February 2015.
Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Dubai Classics is making a resounding return to the Emirate with two of the world’s leading critically acclaimed orchestras.
Hosted in collaboration with M Premiere and Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Dubai Classics will host the world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time in the UAE, and the UNESCO Artist for Peace, violinist and conductor Maestro Vladimir Spivakov with his Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra across two harmonious nights, running from February 19 – 20 at DWTC.
The UK-based Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is hailed as one of the greatest orchestras of modern times, plucking at the heart-strings of audiences throughout the generations for nearly 70 years. The orchestra will play under the guidance of the famed Italian conductor, Alessandro Fabrizi, best-known for his unique passion for melding classical music with the study of neuroscience, and will be showcasing unrivalled classics from Beethoven to Mozart, Dvořák and Barber, to contemporary masters Sibelius and the film music of John Williams. Their performance in Dubai marks the first time the orchestra has come to the region, and is expected to see sell-out crowds on Thursday 19th February.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary with a world tour, the Moscow Virtuosi is one of the most celebrated orchestras around the world, recognised by The New York Times as “First-class string performers brought to perfection by Maestro Spivakov.”. Led by its prolific founder, chief conductor, and UNESCO’s Artist for Peace 2006, Vladimir Spivakov, the orchestra is a favorite feature of the International Music Festival in Colmar, France. The orchestra’s 35 world-class instrumentalists, made up of top-ranking soloists from the great orchestras of Russia, will take the stage in Dubai to share a selection of classical masterpieces by Mozart, Tchaikovski, Rossini, Piazzolla, on Friday 20th February.
