“One of the finest promising young quartets…I wish it a brilliant future”, Alfred Brendel
Maturity, sincerity, finesse and intelligence are certainly the most suitable words to describe this young yet already internationally acclaimed quartet.
The four musicians rose to fame after performing internationally and winning major awards. Just one year after graduating from the Concervatoire National Superieur de Lyon, the young musicians were awarded the first prize at the International Chamber Music competition in Lyon (2009). In 2011 in Geneva the quartet won the first prize at the International Chamber Music competition. The four musicians became laureates of the Maurice Ravel Academy and the Charles Qulmont Foundation.
The triumphant journey of the quartet continued throughout the following years, when the musicians won the Young Concert Artist Auditions prize in November 2012. This victory opened the doors to the most prestigious American stages.
Quatuor Hermes performed with great acclaim at the Lockenhaus Festival, at the Orangerie de Secaux, Festival Radio France Montpellier, Crescendo Festival Berlin, and many others. Their “Coup de Coeur” award in Geneva offered a possibility for Quatuor Hermes to record their first album (released in November 2012 under the label Nascor), in which they interpreted two major works by Haydn and Beethoven.
In 2015 Quatuor Hermes received the Choc de Classica award for their recording of Schumann’s three string quartets and was highly acclaimed in the Guardian for its ‘thoughtful, vivacious and individually coloured performance’.
The quartet travels extensively through Europe, America and Asia.
This is Hermes’ first trip to the UAE and a unique chance for the most discerning audiences in Dubai to experience this vibrant musical phenomenon Tickets are now on sale on platinumlist.net.
